Mission Statement
Food Share is dedicated to leading the fight against hunger in Ventura County.
Why Donate to Food Share of Ventura County?
Food Share, Ventura County’s food bank, is the largest hunger-relief organization in the county. Serving more than 215,000 food-insecure residents annually, Food Share is committed to ensuring nobody goes hungry by providing free access to fresh, nutritious food.
Today, staff and volunteers distribute nearly 19 million pounds of food or 16 million meals annually through a hunger-relief network of 190 pantry and program partners who help expand our reach at the front line of food insecurity. Last year, Food Share provided $55 million worth of food at no cost to our partners, which include Boys and Girls Clubs, Salvation Army, Rescue Mission, local colleges and many more who rely on Food Share to meet critical needs.
Our vision is that no one in Ventura County goes hungry. When 25% of our neighbors – more than 1 in 4 people – experience food insecurity each year, we must do more to expand our reach and provide more access to food. Food Share “ends” hunger and food insecurity by providing anyone in need with access to nutritious food through direct distribution and partner pantries and agencies.
