Committed to advancing arts equity in NYC and beyond, for more than twenty years, Opening Act has actively centered the voices of students of color through free, high-quality theater programming.

Opening Act is in-person once again, and we need your support to ensure that we remain a consistent and positive force in the lives of our students and alums and help them successfully navigate the turbulence of this new norm and school year. Opening Act’s weekly, in-person workshops bring hope, stability, and community through improv games, writing exercises, meditation, physical and vocal work, and acting technique, providing an impact that goes well beyond the stage.
