Project Sweetie Pie
Mission Statement
Grassroots urban agriculture nonprofit focused on Food Justice, Food Access, Equality, economic development-to-generational wealth for the ADOS community. We pride ourselves on the fact that we “we move at the speed of trust” with our partners, collaborators and our donors.
Why Donate to Project Sweetie Pie?
Food is an equity issue and our urban gardens provide healthy food access to everyone. We are primarily a volunteer organization and therefore the majority of your donations goes to our programs and program participants. Through this model, we have been able to provide the entire north Minneapolis community with access to healthy food options in an area that the federal government has deemed “a food desert”. We are also a “launch-pad” for training future farmers albeit in an urban setting. Most of the youth and young adults we serve live in an urban setting, however, our grass-roots urban farm program seeks to prepare the next generation of commercial farmers. We have partnerships with rural farms in order to enhance the urban garden tasks.
