Crowd Funded Cures is a web3 NZ charity that is revolutionizing the way we fund low-cost therapies through financial innovation.
We believe that everyone should have access to effective treatments for their illnesses, regardless of their financial situation. That’s why we use cutting-edge financial instruments, such as pay-for-success contracts and interventional pharmacoeconomics, to fund the development and deployment of low-cost life-saving therapies including repurposed off-patent drugs, nutraceuticals, plant medicines, psychedelics, medical diets, and lifestyle interventions.
Why Donate to Medical Prize Charitable Trust?
One of the most exciting therapies we’re currently working on is the use of off-patent psychedelics, such as ketamine, to treat depression. Depression affects millions of people worldwide and traditional treatments can be expensive and often have negative side effects. Research has shown that ketamine can be an effective and low-cost alternative, with minimal side effects, compared to patented esketamine which costs over $50,000 per year, and is unaffordable to many patients.
Through our unique financially innovative payment models, we’re able to fund the development and deployment of ketamine therapy for those who need it most using cost savings of health insurers.
Our pay-for-success contracts ensure that our funding is tied directly to the success of the therapy, so we’re only investing in treatments that have a proven track record of success. Additionally, our interventional pharmacoeconomics (IVPE) approach ensures that we can fund low-cost treatments by comparing them to expensive patented drugs.
But we can’t do it alone and have significant challenges to convince health insurers to try these new financially innovative payment models. We need your support to continue our ground-breaking work. Your donation will go directly to supporting our efforts to lobby healthcare insurers to pay a percentage of their cost savings from proving low-cost therapies work, such as ketamine for treatment resistant depression, as well as other low-cost therapies for a variety of illnesses.
