Council for Economic Education
Financial and Economic Knowledge for Lifelong Success
Mission Statement
The Council for Economic Education’s (CEE’s) mission is to equip K-12 students with the tools and knowledge of personal finance and economics so that they can make better decisions for themselves, their families, and their communities.
We carry out our mission in three ways. We advocate to require personal finance and economic education as a high school graduation requirement in every state. We provide free training, tools and resources – online and live through our nationwide affiliate network – to more than 40,000 teachers annually who in turn reach over 4 million students. Finally, we deepen economics and personal finance knowledge and introduce high school students to critical career capabilities through our National Personal Finance Challenge, National Economics Challenge, and Invest in Girls program.
Why Donate to Council for Economic Education?
Where would you be without a solid understanding of personal finance and principles of economics?
Many young people lack the basic financial knowledge and skills to prosper in life. As citizens, we have the responsibility to ensure all students receive an education that includes the financial knowledge they need to succeed.
Every day CEE takes action to address this need – especially where young learners are not being served.
The Council for Economic Education helps youth:
• Improve their financial futures
• Make informed decisions
• Prepare for careers or post-secondary education
• Understand the economic impact of real-world events
