Mission Statement
Empowering and transforming communities: The One Billion Literates Foundation (OBLF) is dedicated to transforming the lives of peri-urban and rural communities through a systemic focus on primary education, public health, developing the socio-economic capacity of women, and rehabilitating the severely marginalized and poor. Through integrated efforts, OBLF aims to foster sustainable development and create lasting positive change in communities.

OBLF USA is the U.S. arm of OBLF India, a grassroots, community-driven non-profit dedicated to fostering positive change in underserved, vulnerable and marginalized communities. At present, we work in peri-urban and rural areas such as Anekal Sub-District in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
Established with a vision to develop an ecosystem of sustainable change for marginalized populations, OBLF’s mission spans four critical areas: Education & Literacy, Public Health, Community Rehabilitation & Development, and Empowerment & Livelihoods.
Each of these focus areas aligns directly with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting OBLF’s dedication to sustainable development and change.
OBLF has touched the lives of countless children, families, and communities, creating pathways for growth and an equitable future.
