Torrential rains and catastrophic flash flooding have devastated large parts of central Texas, particularly Kerr County, where more than 100 lives have been lost—many of them children attending summer camp along the Guadalupe River. This disaster has become one of the state’s worst in decades, with damage estimates ranging from $18 billion to $22 billion.
Entire communities have been upended, with homes, businesses, and lives swept away in a matter of hours. First responders from across the state and country are still working to recover the missing and support survivors.
