Mission Statement
The One Billion Literates Foundation (OBLF) USA, which was set up in March 2021, aims to improve the social and economic conditions of the economically weaker and underprivileged sections of society in India; and improve literacy rate in villages in India by imparting elementary education to children in these villages.

OBLF USA is a Philanthropic Partner to OBLF India, a grassroots, community-driven non-profit dedicated to fostering positive change in underserved, vulnerable and marginalized communities. At present, we work in peri-urban and rural in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
OBLF India was established with a vision to build a model that would mitigate the massive learning deficit in public elementary schools in rural India. The foundation engages and enables semi-literate women to provide last mile quality education and quality health care. OBLF’s mission spans four critical areas: Education & Literacy, Public Health, Community Rehabilitation & Development, and Empowerment & Livelihoods.
Each of these focus areas aligns directly with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting OBLF’s dedication to sustainable development and change.
In the past 15 years OBLF has touched the lives of countless children, families, and communities, creating pathways for growth and an equitable future.
