Unlocking opportunity for underserved, vulnerable and marginalized communities through education and public health. Established in March 2021, One Billion Literates Foundation (OBLF), USA is committed to working towards enduring, positive and community-led change.

Together with our partner, OBLF India, our efforts are grounded in the peri-urban and rural regions around Bangalore, Karnataka, where opportunity is scarce but potential is limitless.
OBLF India was created with a simple, powerful belief: every child deserves the chance to learn—and every community has the power to lead its own transformation.
By training and empowering semi-literate local women, OBLF delivers last-mile education and essential health support directly to the children and community members who need it most. This model doesn’t just reach—it uplifts, employs, and heals.
Our mission spans two pillars that shape resilient communities—Education and Public Health. Each one advances critical UN Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable, real-world impact.
For 15 years, OBLF has ignited hope in thousands of children and families—improving learning, restoring dignity, and opening pathways to a brighter, more equitable future.
