Too Young to Wed
Too Young to Wed
Mission Statement
Led by renowned Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist and activist Stephanie Sinclair, the mission of Too Young To Wed (TYTW) is to empower girls and end child marriage globally. Somewhere in the world, every two seconds, a girl is married against her will. While child marriage occurs in almost all countries, and is not exclusive to any particular religion or society, TYTW focuses its programming in areas where child marriage is most egregious and underreported.
Afghanistan Emergency Initiative:
TYTW has successfully evacuated more than 700 at-risk Afghan women and girls (including families); and continues to provide in-country services including emergency food assistance for over 1,800 individuals, private education support for girls, and over 1,000 nights of safe housing for families in danger.
Why Donate Crypto?
Your generosity allows TYTW to provide a continuum of programs and services that form a holistic empowerment model for survivors and girls at high risk of child marriage. As they navigate different paths toward realizing their full rights as girls and young women, TYTW supports vulnerable girls with innovative, survivor-centered programming at each stage of their journey. Emergency protective services aid girls with shelter, counseling, legal and medical services as they safely exit forced marriages. Therapeutic workshops, survivor-led mentoring, and leadership development programs empower girls to reclaim their bodies and narratives as they heal from trauma. Education, vocation, and recreation programs equip girls with lifelong tools for independence, while preventing them from entering or returning to child marriages. Reunification, reconciliation, and advocacy programs mobilize girls to become change agents who transform their own communities.
