Mission Statement
At Alzheimer’s Research UK, we stand for everyone affected by dementia. We stand for a cure.
Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer and affects millions of people across the globe. Today, 1 in 2 of us will be directly affected by it. For many years, the situation has felt hopeless – but global optimism around new treatments and host of advances in research are now revealing a path to a cure.
We are at the beginning of our journey – but with the right support and action, it’s a matter of when, not if, life-changing treatments arrive. By working across 3 key research areas, we’re moving closer to our vision of a world free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia.
Through our initiatives, we’re developing the infrastructure and expertise to be able to capitalise on the most promising science from around the world. Our researchers are making incredible progress – they’ve worked with scientists across 60 countries, making more than 2,200 discoveries.
