Mission Statement
We build pathways for young women of color to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to skills in computer programming and technology.
Radical action is needed if we are to close the opportunity gap for Black women and girls. We lead a global movement to establish equal representation in the tech sector. Black Girls CODE is devoted to showing the world that Black girls can code and do so much more. Together, we are creating stronger economies and more equitable societies—ultimately realizing the true potential of democracy through diversity and inclusion.Â
Why Donate to Black Girls CODE?
Donations help to support Black Girls CODE programs, including STEM focused workshops, summer camps, and enrichment activities. During another year of mostly virtual program delivery in 2021, Black Girls CODE was able to continue to broaden its audience beyond its 15 chapters. As we move forward, we are committed to building pathways for Black girls to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to computer programming and technology skills. Black Girls CODE will resume in-person programming in 2022. This important work is only possible because of the generous support of our donors. Our community partners play a critical role in our mission to change the face of technology. Together, we engage, educate, and empower young girls of color, across the globe, to become the future leaders and innovators in technology.Â
