Mission Statement
Childhood Leukemia Foundation was created to educate, empower and lift the spirits of children bravely fighting cancer. Every day, we bring comfort, hope and connection to young patients who are facing the most difficult time in their lives. Our Keeping Kids Connected iPad Program helps children in hospitals stay close to family, friends and their schoolwork - reminding them that they are never alone. Through our E-STEAM Wish Baskets, we deliver age-appropriate gifts and activities that spark joy, creativity, and laughter when its needed most. Together, with your support, we can continue to brighten hospital rooms and bring moments of happiness to these courageous children.

More than 29 years ago, one simple act of kindness sparked the creation of Childhood Leukemia Foundation. It began when Barbara Haramis, our founder, learned of a five-year-old boy with leukemia whose only wish was a Nintendo Gameboy. By granting that wish, Barbara discovered the profound impact even a small gesture can have on a child facing cancer. Since then, Childhood Leukemia Foundation has dedicated itself to bringing comfort, hope, and connection to children battling cancer, helping them maintain a sense of joy and normalcy during the most challenging times of their young lives.
