Why Donate to Chrysalis?
We help people find jobs! Your donation of cryptocurrency will support thousands of jobseekers every year.
At Chrysalis, we strive to assist individuals in empowering themselves, setting employment goals, navigating barriers, connecting to additional services, and advancing their skills – all aimed at preparing for, obtaining, and retaining a job. Whether a client comes in with specific ambitions in mind or has never considered what their professional journey might look like, staff and volunteers provide them with individualized support during every phase of their job search. We provide numerous resources, including case management, a job-readiness curriculum, resume preparation, practice interviews, and access to computers, professional attire, transitional employment, and job-retention support.
Chrysalis offers job-readiness and employment related social services, through supportive programs and paid transitional employment that strengthen employability. Individuals who access our services may have experienced homelessness, have been impacted by the criminal justice system, or are seeking assistance in navigating a barrier to employment. Each individual who joins Chrysalis is assigned a personal advocate – an Employment Specialist, who uses our series of assessment tools and one-on-one meetings to measure job readiness, develop an individualized service plan, and guide clients through the three stages of the Chrysalis program – getting ready for a job, finding a job, and retaining a job.
Beginning in 2020, Chrysalis adapted many of its services to function virtually in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the cornerstone of our program has remained the same. Our core curriculum of four classes provide information and resources on how
to conduct a job search and cover topics such as where to look for a job, how to create a resume, interviewing skills, and professionalism. For clients with experience in the criminal justice system we have added a section about addressing convictions during the job search to a special session of one of those classes. Volunteers work with clients to help them create resumes, prepare
for interviews, and use technology to find and apply for jobs.
Clients have access to in-depth case management, and supplemental supports such as interview clothing, transportation assistance, food, computers, phones and voicemail, and a mailing address. Through partnerships, Chrysalis clients also have access to on-site
mental health support and legal assistance. In addition, Chrysalis provides scholarships to help clients access external trainings, certifications, and tools/materials that will help them in their job search. After a client has landed a job, the client services team continues to connect with the individual as a support focused on employment retention.
For clients who are interested in current work experience, Chrysalis offers paid, transitional employment with our employment social enterprise to get them started on the road to permanent, outside employment. Transitional jobs deliver marketable experience and occupational skills while providing a closely supervised, supportive working environment that allows clients to demonstrate and
practice their hard and soft skills. There are currently four transitional job opportunities for clients within Chrysalis (also known as Chrysalis Enterprises): Staffing, Works, Roads, and Safekeeping.
