Why Donate to GRACE Gorillas ?

Located in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, GRACE is the only sanctuary in the world for critically endangered Grauer’s gorillas. The sanctuary is run by an all-Congolese team, which has won international awards in the face of widespread insecurity, Ebola outbreaks, and COVID-19. GRACE rehabilitates baby gorillas orphaned by poaching and helps them learn critical survival skills, with the long-term goal of reintroducing them to the wild. Beyond the sanctuary, GRACE works hand-in-hand with local communities to protect wild gorillas and their habitat. We implement conservation education and community engagement programs that uplift communities around wild gorilla populations and promote local understanding of and appreciation for gorillas, their forest habitat, and conservation.
