We believe that every child deserves a quality education—and homeschooling is one of the best ways to achieve that. Because homeschooling is a unique educational experience that can help children thrive, for nearly 40 years, HSLDA has advocated for the right to homeschool and supported homeschool families across the United States.
Why Donate to HSLDA?
Homeschooling is more popular than ever. Following the global pandemic, the number of households in the United States with school-aged children who were homeschooling at least one child doubled from approximately 9% to 18.6%. Parents across the country realized and are continuing to discover the benefits of homeschooling their children.
No other form of education allows the kind of customization and personalization that homeschooling does. Homeschooling parents—who teach their children at their own pace, allow them to follow their interests, and craft an education plan that meets their specific needs—are providing an environment for them to flourish.
Parents are also typically better suited than the government to determine what kind of education works best for their children. They know their children’s needs and abilities better than any government official can—and they’re better able to find ways to meet those needs and nurture those abilities. When parents are free to choose and direct their children’s educational experience, it sets the stage for their children to excel!
By donating to HSLDA, you will support homeschooling families facing legal challenges, equip new homeschooling families to succeed, and provide low-income families with the schoolbooks and educational materials they need to continue homeschooling. Together, we can make homeschooling possible for many more families!
