Too often, life-readiness skills are treated as optional extras. The JOSHWAY Youth Leadership Bridge makes life skills education the main event for college and career readiness.

We like to see youth walking away knowing how to create a budget, understanding the core elements of a healthy lifestyle, being more confident public speakers, learning specific digital apps to apply life skills, and identifying the next step in their college or career paths. Of course, we measure these outcomes.

But for JOSHWAY, success is not measured only by skills gained, it’s measured by what students do next.

These are the desired results of the JOSHWAY Youth Leadership Bridge:

Every participant who completes the Bridge earns a program certificate and, more importantly, is invited to take the JOSHWAY Pledge, a personal commitment to take action within six months.

Their pledged action might be volunteering, launching a community project, starting a podcast, applying for early college credit, or exploring a trade. JOSHWAY tracks this data and follows up to support them.

Through JOSHWAY’s growing network of partners, each young person who graduates from the Bridge has access to real-world opportunities aligned with their passions.

In this way, the JOSHWAY Bridge is more than a program. It is a catalyst that transforms learning into leadership, self-discovery into direction, and potential into purposeful action.
