Korean K9 Rescue
Mission Statement
Korean K9 Rescue exists to rescue and rehabilitate dogs from South Korea and to place them with loving forever families in the United States. We envision a world where all dogs can live happy and free. To date, we have rescued and adopted out over 3,500 dogs.
We are steadfastly committed to bringing an end to the dog meat trade forever, a challenging but essential mission that underlines our belief in the dignity and worth of every dog. In January of 2024, the final bill was passed in the house to end the trade by 2027. In line with this, we are passionately advocating for Lucy’s Law, championing the fight against puppy mills by banning third party sales of pet stores and dealers, promoting responsible breeding, and fostering a more humane welfare approach to pet ownership. Furthermore, we are deeply invested in advancing animal welfare and reform, tirelessly working to improve the living conditions, treatment, and rights of dogs, both in South Korea and beyond. Our dedication is unwavering in creating a world where the well-being of dogs is a priority, and their mistreatment from man is a distant memory of Korea’s past.
Why Donate to Korean K9 Rescue?
Because the adoption rate in South Korea is less than 15%, we transport all our dogs to KK9R adoption teams in New York, Boston, and Los Angeles. As a foster-based organization, our rescues live with volunteers while they wait for their forever families. Our dogs are crate-trained, wear back-ups on their collars, and eat a healthy fresh diet. We spare no expense to ensure that all KK9R dogs can live happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives with their forever family.
