Mission Statement
Lunar Startups is on a mission to create more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystems by providing education, support, and connectivity to leaders who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQ+, women, and nonbinary.
The three key ingredients to success for all entrepreneurs are social capital, inspiration capital, and financial capital. Yet in our region and beyond, under-invested founders lack access to all three types of capital. Lunar aspires to be a critical systems change agent that is disrupting the status quo, shifting mindsets, and demystifying pathways to scale for all entrepreneurs.Â
Why Donate to Lunar Startups?
Our ambition is to create an unshakeable, holistic system of support for BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ entrepreneurs with a massive gravitational pull for capital, talent, and jobs to the midwest. We are cultivating an interconnected network of entrepreneurs that build each other up and re-invest in their community.
In our first three years of operation, our 45 cohort companies created 105 new jobs, engaged 250 contractors, earned $11.3 million, and created $294 million in economic impact in our region. That means that for every $1 donated to Lunar, $200 in economic impact is returned to the community.
