The National Alliance for Eating Disorders is the leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to the outreach, education, early intervention, support and advocacy for all eating disorders.Â
Why Donate to National Alliance for Eating Disorders?
Eating disorders are a very significant, sometimes deadly, serious mental illnesses that affect 28.8 million Americans, or 9% of the U.S. population over the course of their lifetimes. They do not discriminate between age, race, gender, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, ability and body shape/size. Unfortunately only 1/3 of indviduals will ever access care. To make matters worse, the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened eating disorder recovery outcomes. Eating disorders negatively impact societies across the globe and must be treated on par with other serious mental illnesses.
