Mission Statement
Rethink Food exists to bridge the gap between excess food and the communities that need it. Founded in 2017, we are a nonprofit that is growing a network to alleviate food insecurity.
Why Donate to Rethink Food USA?
More than 38 million people in the U.S. lack reliable access to nutritious meals. Meanwhile, 158 billion pounds of food go uneaten — the equivalent of 42% of the country’s food supply. There is enough food in the system, but it’s not getting into the hands of those who need it. Rethink Food exists to bridge that gap.
Since 2017, Rethink Food has prepared over 26 million meals for local communities and rescued over 2.5 million pounds of excess food.
