Mission Statement
Soccer Without Borders uses soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing newcomer youth a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, healing & personal success. We proactively engage & include newcomers through a holistic, evidence-based model that combines soccer with academic & language support, civic engagement, & cultural exchange activities. Soccer helps newcomers to feel confident, included, and valued. In a welcoming team environment led by a caring mentor-coach, our participants advance academically, develop personally, make healthy choices, build social capital, & develop English skills. Our inclusive environment supports newcomer youth to grow, integrate into their new lives & heal from past trauma.Â
