The Bee Conservancy
Mission Statement
The Honeybee Conservancy was founded in 2009 by Guillermo Fernandez in response to the news that bees across the globe were in crisis. In the fall of 2020, The Honeybee Conservancy relaunched as The Bee Conservancy to better capture our work to protect all bees, safeguard the environment, and secure food justice through community-based education, research, habitat creation, and advocacy.
Why Donate to The Bee Conservancy?
The Bee Conservancy is compelled by the potential of cryptocurrency, creative NFTs and metaverses, and the expanding world of the blockchain to power social impact. Your cryptocurrency donation directly benefits our mission and programs, such as our keystone Sponsor-a-Hive program has placed ~500 native bee homes in urban gardens, schools, and community organizations across the U.S. and Canada in 2021 alone, and has protected 10 million bees in underserved areas.
Our seven New York City Bee Sanctuaries — which create safe havens for native and honey bees, as well as local plant species — provide pollination support for seminal public green spaces (including several Wildlife Conservation Society zoos), food and community resilience for at-risk areas, and educate and delight the general public with interactive and informative events.
