Mission Statement

To protect, promote, and enhance our freshwater and estuarine ecosystems for both people and wildlife. The Rivers Trust​ movement is one of the fastest-growing environmental networks in the world. Our 65-plus member Rivers Trusts are independent charities in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland, a collaborative group dedicated to protecting and improving rivers for the benefit of people and wildlife. Rivers Trusts are, uniquely, organised around river catchment boundaries; because improving rivers requires interventions over the whole area of land which drains into the river. We have a clear Vision: Wild, healthy, natural rivers valued by all.
