Mission Statement

Yad Ezra V'Shulamit was established in 1988 by Aryeh Lurie to combat hunger and poverty in Israel. Our mission is to help struggling families feed their children, restore their dignity and break the cycle of poverty. We focus on alleviating the hardship of impoverished children, widows, orphans, needy families, single parent families, families with a disabled parent, holocaust survivors, the elderly, new immigrants and anyone who needs a helping hand. Poverty doesn't discriminate and neither do we. We try to provide food to anyone who needs help. Currently, we assist over 300,000 individuals in need. Yad Ezra V'Shulamit is the largest provider of food baskets to the poor in Israel, distributing 12,000 food baskets and vouchers weekly, and an additional 50,000 for Rosh Hashanah and Passover through 93 distribution points across the country.
