Measure
In partnership with Climate Vault, we assess the annual carbon footprint of crypto donation transactions on The Giving Block platform.
Address
The Giving Block makes the recommended donation needed to neutralize our carbon emissions to ensure we maximize our positive environmental impact.
Reduce
Climate Vault then reduces carbon in regulated industries by acquiring their emission allowances and taking them out of circulation.

Why did The Giving Block create this EcoGift program?
The environmental impact of crypto donations has been a long-standing concern from our community. In 2022, we decided to commit to becoming a climate-friendly platform and began conducting research for a partnership that would be truly impactful. How does EcoGift differ from a basic carbon offset program?
Our pledge with EcoGift is to make a donation recommended by our partner, ClimateVault, in order to achieve carbon neutralization for our platform.
Where can I learn more about the carbon neutralization process?
Rather than planting trees or distributing clean cookstoves, EcoGift has developed a measurement of exactly how much carbon pollution we’re preventing, ton by ton, by purchasing carbon permits from cap-and-trade compliance markets and vaulting them so emitters can’t use them.
