Webinar Crypto 101 for Nonprofits

Bitcoin. Cryptocurrency. The blockchain. These words were obscure and foreign to most non-techies just a few years ago; now they’re on the tip of everyone’s tongue. Forward-thinking nonprofits are recognizing that cryptocurrencies can be an important fundraising tool and their timing couldn’t be better: cryptocurrency donations have spiked in recent months and donors are eager to give more.

GivingTuesday + The Giving Block hosted a webinar on May 18, 2022 about cryptocurrency for nonprofits. This session is a crash course designed for nonprofit practitioners who have zero knowledge of the crypto space. A few things on the agenda:

Explaining cryptocurrency in words that normal humans use
The history of crypto philanthropy
How to get started accepting cryptocurrencies as donations (and what to do with crypto after you have it)

We’ll hear from Fereshteh Forough from Code to Inspire who will share her organization’s experience in crypto fundraising and we offered a safe space to ask the questions you’ve been too afraid to ask.
