Crypto for Good: Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona Brings Fundraising to the Metaverse
An Arizona-based branch of nonprofit Habitat for Humanity has constructed a charity gala in the metaverse to help address the very real problem of the lack of affordable housing.
The virtual fundraiser, held in a virtual Habitat house, was built in Decentraland for donors to visit online and purchase non-fungible tokens (NFT). All of the proceeds from these purchases went directly towards furthering the organization’s mission.
