About Zcash

Zcash is a cryptocurrency that was the first to offers higher levels of privacy using zero-knowledge proofs (or zk-SNARKs), a form of cryptography that gives users the greater privacy than many other cryptos. What sets zk-SNARKS apart is that it enables transactions to occur without either user to see the other’s payment information. It also makes transactions untraceable on the blockchain, while still verifying the event. Zcash doesn’t mandate the use of anonymous addresses, it lets users choose their level of anonymity through the availability of transparent addresses and shielded addresses.
