Advisory Board Members Share Their Vision
As they step into their roles on the Advisory Board, members shared their excitement for the transformative potential of digital giving and their collective mission to drive innovation in nonprofit fundraising. Here’s what they had to say about joining forces with The Giving Block to shape the future of philanthropy:
I am excited to share ideas with other nonprofit professionals and The Giving Block’s leadership to help grow crypto philanthropy across my organization and support other nonprofits. Joining the Advisory Board will allow me to help shape the future of Web3 fundraising, while expanding my network and making a real difference.
I am excited to be part of The Giving Block’s Advisory Board. I believe in growing the scale and impact of decentralized philanthropy—‘DePhi’—for Save the Children and the entire social sector. Bitcoin and blockchain can be a force for good and economic inclusion, and I look forward to contributing to this movement.
The integration of cryptocurrency donations offers new possibilities for fundraising, allowing charities to engage younger, digitally-native donors while diversifying revenue streams. I’m excited to explore how peer-to-peer fundraising strategies can be enhanced within crypto communities, and to work with visionary leaders shaping the future of philanthropy
I started using BTC in 2014 and have been fascinated with the power and potential of blockchain ever since. Mercy Corps has been piloting crypto and blockchain for good programs around the world for several years now. I believe we have an obligation to ensure this system works for all people, particularly those historically excluded from the financial sector. Philanthropic engagement will show the private sector that real impact can be driven by private innovation.
Outright International has partnered with The Giving Block since 2021 to offer innovative giving solutions to donors who want to protect and advance the human rights of LGBTIQ people globally. I’m honored to be a part of this Advisory Board to ensure that our communities benefit from new philanthropic initiatives like crypto philanthropy.
From its genesis, the crypto community has exhibited a deeply encouraging commitment to philanthropy. The Water Project was early in leveraging this enthusiasm. As the community grows, we see that the entire charitable sector stands to benefit. The nonprofits on this panel will elevate our shared stories of generosity and inspire others to join. The innovative spirit of crypto lies at the heart of most charities, and together, we’ll unlock so much good.
I’m excited to join this board to share knowledge and grow with other people interested in the next wave of digital technologies. The Giving Block’s mission aligns with WaterAid’s efforts to transform lives globally, and I look forward to being part of this innovative group.
I’ve been excited about the possibilities of crypto philanthropy since Orangutan Outreach first joined the Giving Block. Through all the ups and downs the excitement has never waned. As part of the board, I’m looking forward to continuing my own education about the space while at the same time providing input from the perspective of those who lack their own voice— orangutans and other apes! Hopefully I’ll be able to help steer the conversation in a direction that is beneficial not only to humans, but also to animals and wildlife conservation.
The formation of this Advisory Board marks a pivotal moment for The Giving Block and the nonprofits it serves. The Board will drive innovation in digital giving, making it easier for organizations to adopt crypto, stocks, and other non-cash assets as essential tools for fundraising. By doing so, The Giving Block aims to empower nonprofits to unlock new revenue streams, reach more donors, and create lasting change in the communities they serve.
As digital fundraising evolves, The Giving Block and its Advisory Board are committed to ensuring that nonprofits have the strategies and technologies they need to thrive in this new landscape, enabling them to make an even greater impact for years to come.
