Mission Statement

Virunga National Park, Africa’s most biodiverse protected area, has stood at the frontline of conservation for more than a century. The Park protects one-third of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas and is home to over 1,000 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

The Congo Conservation Foundation mobilises support in the United States to sustain this protection. Donations fund ranger-led conservation, wildlife monitoring, and programmes that help safeguard both nature and livelihoods in one of the world’s most fragile regions, where millions of people are affected by ongoing conflict.
