Mission Statement
Empower, encourage, and equip low-income single parents to obtain a college degree, develop essential life skills, and ultimately become self-sufficient. We do this by providing our single parent students with: 1. Financial assistance for housing and childcare 2. A facilitator to connect our students to community resources 3. Financial literacy and a game plan for financial independence 4. Counseling resources and success coachingÂ

Many single parents struggle financially to provide for themselves and their children. The path forward is access to education which can have many positive outcomes in our community. Since 99% of our participants are African-American, our program helps reduce social inequities, discrimination, and poverty. During our 12-year history, our program graduates have paid it forward by funding new H.O.P.E., Inc. participants, volunteering in their communities, and setting positive examples for their families. We are breaking down systemic barriers to opportunity by ensuring single mothers and fathers can earn a college degree.Â
