Why Donate to Historic Hawaii Theatre?

With public schools cutting the arts from their budgets, it falls to community based organizations like ours to continue to provide safe places for the arts to be developed and performed, and our next generation of artists to be trained. We do this through two main programs – 1) Youth Theatre Education Program and 2) Partners in the Arts program. The youth theatre education program provides thousands of students annually with hands on opportunities to learn how a show works from both the perspective of the Front of House, Back of House and performer’s perspectives. With the Partners in the Arts program, we raise funds to provide access to the theatre for cultural practitioners, under represented groups and those who have financial needs that otherwise would preclude them from performing on our stage. In the past year, we’ve reached millions of viewers with our digital content programming, placing Hawaiian cultural practitioners, AAPI, POC and LBTGQ+ organizations in the spotlight, connecting them with new viewers and donors around the globe.

We don’t receive operating support from our city, state or federal government, and rely on the kindness and generosity of our donors and patrons to keep the lights on and the doors open. Your gift will go a long way in making someones dreams of sharing their art with the world a reality.
