Mission Statement
Our mission is to continue to preserve the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse, which is a historical treasure and educate and enthuse new generations about the magical history of the Hudson River and its ports.Â
Why Donate to Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society?
There used to be 14 lighthouses along the great Hudson River. Today, there are only 7 lighthouses left, and only 2 that are in the middle of the river. The Hudson-Athens Lighthouse is one of the only two. And because of climate change, raging waters, currents and soil erosion, the lighthouse may not be survive and be around for long. The Hudson-Athens lighthouse is a symbol of strength, resilience and architectural beauty that will teach and inspire future generations of their heritage.Â
