Mission Statement
Immigrant Defenders Law Center (ImmDef) is a next-generation social justice law firm that defends our immigrant communities against injustices in the immigration system. We envision a future where no immigrant will be forced to face an unjust immigration system alone. Our programs are a first step towards the long-term goal of providing universal representation to all immigrants facing deportation. ImmDef is the largest non‐profit, pro bono provider of deportation defense in Southern California with offices in Los Angeles, Adelanto, Riverside, Santa Ana, and San Diego.
Why Donate to Immigrant Defenders Law Center?
ImmDef's programs serve everyone from youth to adults and non-detained as well as detained individuals. Our largest program is the Children’s Representation Project which protects unaccompanied children, refugees, and foster youth in the immigration system. In addition, ImmDef serves deported veterans, families facing separation through deportation or detention, mentally disabled detained community members, and asylum seekers and refugees at the border. ImmDef provides our full-scale removal defense services based on a universal representation model. This means that ImmDef does not screen clients based on eligibility for legal relief. Rather, we accept all cases up to our capacity and subject to funding restrictions. ImmDef's universal representation model advances the premise that the right to counsel in immigration court is a crucial step toward ensuring equitable due process.
