Mission Statement
Founded in 2007 by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and former Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the Kofi Annan Foundation is a non-profit whose mission is to help build peaceful, democratic, and resilient societies.
Kofi Annan’s vision was simple and powerful: without peace, there can be no development. Without peace, human rights are always in jeopardy. Without peace, people and nations cannot fulfill their enormous potential.
From on-the-ground support to advocacy, research to high-level dialogues, our programs include promoting youth leadership, preventing violent extremism, tackling misinformation online, combatting hunger, ensuring fair elections, and more.
We help empower young people, ensuring their voices are heard, and they get a seat at the decision-making table.Â
