Founded by Lutherans in the United States at the end of World War II and grounded in Lutheran theology, Lutheran World Relief reaches those with the very least around the world. We work with people based on need, regardless of race, religion or nationality and we do not evangelize.
Where there is need, we find a way to respond. We save lives in the poorest parts of the world, where families are suffering, cut off from basic resources and forgotten.
We help hungry families grow enough food to nourish themselves and earn a living. We help the sick access the medicine and care they need to get well. And we help neighbors in crisis can get the immediate assistance they need and prepare for the next unexpected challenge. We break the cycle of poverty, so families and communities can thrive.
