Mission Statement
Mission: With cinema as a focal point, Ragtag Film Society exists to captivate and engage communities in immersive arts experiences that explore assumptions and elicit shared joy, wonder, and introspection.
Why Donate to Ragtag Film Society?
RFS has two key projects, including the world-renowned True/False Film Fest, a four-day immersive multimedia event that brings together nonfiction filmmakers, visual artists, musicians, and audiences for a unique, perspective-shifting, cultural experience that transforms the mid-sized college town from ordinary to extraordinary; and Ragtag Cinema, a year-round, 200-seat theater that shares new independent arthouse releases and archival films with regular 35mm screenings. Both located in Columbia, Missouri, these projects creatively infuse visual arts, music, and community conversations to enhance the cinematic experience.
