Mission Statement
Saint Joseph Parenting Center (SJPC) is a nonsectarian, 501c-3 registered nonprofit working since 2010 to provide vulnerable families with resources they need to care for their children and provide a safe environment for them to thrive. SJPC has a vision of a world free from child abuse and we advance our mission through a community-based education program focused on needs of parents. Built on a belief that supporting parents is key to protecting children, SJPC provides parent education classes in English and Spanish, relationship skills and employee readiness training, case management and community resource support to help parents change unhealthy parenting patterns and decrease child abuse and neglect.Â

CDC data that 1 in 7 children suffers abuse every year exposes significant unmet need in our local communities for SJPC services to Educate the Parent, Protect the Child and prevent child abuse. SJPC’s community- based, parenting education programs demonstrate that when parents are given necessary knowledge, tools and resources, they can raise resilient, confident and healthier (both physically and mentally) children. SJPC has served over 1700 families since 2010, over 350 families in 2021 and we will serve +22% more families in 2022. SJPC is projected to serve over 1,000 families in the next 3 years. In 2022, SJPC opened a 2nd community center to join our original location; but escalating need in our local communities supports continued SJPC expansion.Â
