Mission Statement

Changing Lives Through Music

The San Diego Symphony, through unquestionable commitment to the highest levels of artistic achievement, seeks to elevate human potential by providing a shared sense of pride and belonging to something bigger than any of us can achieve alone. We offer audiences the wonder of live music and transformative learning experiences that develop an understanding and passion for the arts. To ensure we are an enduring force in the region we commit to fiscal responsibility. We serve and shape the culture of the region, by being for all and with all, the musical heart of San Diego.

Why Donate to San Diego Symphony Orchestra Association?

Donating to the San Diego Symphony is an investment in both artistic excellence and the well-being of the community.

At its core, your support sustains world-class music. It ensures that exceptional musicians, guest artists and conductors can continue to bring inspiring performances to life at two of San Diego’s state-of-the-art music venues, Jacobs Music Center and The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.

Through Learning and Community Engagement programs, the Symphony serves more than 65,000 people each year, including mainstage experiences for children ages 0–12 and their families, music education for students in grades 3–12 and college, free Music Connects community concerts, and complimentary tickets distributed through nonprofit partners serving San Diego’s most under-resourced communities.

Finally, giving strengthens San Diego itself. The Symphony is a cultural anchor, bringing people together, contributing to the region’s identity, and fostering a sense of pride and belonging. Your support helps ensure it remains a vibrant, enduring force for the entire community.
