Save Groundwater Foundation

Mission Statement

Save Groundwater Foundation is on a big mission to solve the global water crisis within a decade. Extreme weather is causing both severe droughts as well as sudden floods. In fact, since 2000 there has been a 29% increase in droughts and a 134% increase in floods - causing a global water crisis. With half of humanity under risk of water stress by 2030, we are running out of time to solve this crisis. Any viable solution to this crisis will have to address both droughts and floods - and scale at low cost in order to quickly address this planetary crisis. And this is exactly the JalTara approach by Save Groundwater Foundation - a nation-scale, low cost approach to solve both floods and droughts. Our strong belief is that a "simple, repeatable solution" at large scale can be a game-changer.

Why Donate to Save Groundwater Foundation ?

Over the past three years, JalTara has solved the water crisis for 92 villages in India - water tables have increased, farmer incomes have more than doubled, crop yields have gone up and crop spoilage due to heavy rains have been virtually eliminated. If you believe that water is a global crisis and should be solved at nation and global-scale speeds, do support us. Our plan for this coming year is solve the water crisis for 1.5 million people living in 1,000 villages - at a cost of $6000/village. Our goal for this project is to learn at low cost ($16 to replenish a million liters of groundwater) and then scale this up globally.
