Mission Statement
The DeSci Foundation supports scientific research and contributes to improvements in the scientific ecosystem.
Scientific progress is the foundation for knowledge, economic growth, and continuing improvements in well-being and life span. It provides humanity with new tools to address the diverse challenges we are facing. As an essential public good, science needs to be reliable, transparent, independent, and openly accessible. Enhancements are necessary and possible across all of these dimensions.
The Desci Foundation is an independent organization of leading scientists and innovators who support the development of a more verifiable, trustworthy, accessible, and fairer scientific ecosystem.
Why Donate to DeSci Foundation?
With your support, we help scientists to make ground-breaking discoveries that will be accessible to everyone and that will stand the test of time. Our emerging funding program focuses on areas that are currently not or not sufficiently supported by other funding institutions.
Your support allows us to support outstanding researchers who establish and embrace best practices of open science. Best practices include making scientific datasets FAIR (Findable Accessible Interoperable Reusable), sharing code files publicly, pre-registrations of studies before they are conducted, as well as reporting the results of analyses and experiments that did not yield statistically significant results. Your donations contribute to making science more robust, replicable, trustworthy, and accessible, to the benefit of everyone.
Your support will also enable metascience research that assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the current scientific ecosystem, develop innovative theories for transformative change, and rigorously test new approaches to scientific funding, workflows, and publications. This research is of crucial importance to accelerate scientific and technological progress across domains, on a global scale.
