Mission Statement
Tunapanda Institute, a 501(c)3 non-profit, bridges digital divides through tech, design, and entrepreneurship training. Tunapanda has had a consistent presence in Kibera, a Nairobi informal settlement, since 2013 and is a known and trusted leader in digital skills development for young people in low-income areas. For 6 years, we have been facilitating 3-month peer trainings and have graduated over 300 youth from our program, many of whom have gone on to teach these skills to others and/or to set up their own training facilities, freelancing careers, and businesses.Â
Why Donate to Tunapanda Institute?
Tunapanda has accepted Bitcoin since 2014, teaches crypto in our 3-month training programs in low-income parts of East Afica, and ran a 3-day blockchain hackathon in Kibera (Nairobi) in 2018. We intend to integrate our open source elearning platform, Wikonnect (www.wikonnect.org), with a variety of digital payment options for learn-to-earn and teach-to-earn models.Â
