The Crypto Adoption Fund Equally Supports Pro-Crypto Charities Around the World
In partnership with Renaissance Charitable Foundation, The Giving Block has launched the Crypto Adoption Fund to support pro-crypto charities, with a goal to raise $10,000,000 in 2021. The Crypto Adoption Fund will enable donors to support more than 600 pro-crypto nonprofit organizations with a single donation.
In addition to the tax benefits and the desire to give to important causes, donors often tell us that they donate crypto because they’re excited that the charity is supportive of cryptocurrency. Put another way, they’re donating crypto in part to reward and encourage charities that are doing their part to support the crypto industry as early adopters.
As a company, that was part of the reason we started The Giving Block. We knew that more crypto donations would mean more nonprofits accepting crypto which, in turn, would mean more nonprofits talking about crypto. Every time this “virtuous circle” repeats, the crypto philanthropy landscape grows for the better.
We still have a long way to go before every adult has a crypto wallet. But as crypto adoption increases, we are working to develop new ways for HODLers to give charitably and demonstrate their values. Imagine hearing about crypto for the first time because your favorite charity just received a one million dollar BTC donation. That’s a very positive way to be introduced to crypto, and those positive impressions can reverberate in meaningful conversations around the dinner table and in the boardroom.
The crypto community is welcoming, supportive, and eager to act on its ideals. The Crypto Adoption Fund is yet another prime example of this, and we’re excited to see the impact it will have on hundreds of charities around the world.
What’s the significance of the Crypto Adoption Fund?
Before Index Funds, investors who wanted exposure to a broader market had to purchase individual shares of hundreds or thousands of individual companies. To date, donors who wanted to support Crypto Philanthropy have faced this same issue. We’ve had donors and corporate sponsors on our platform give millions of dollars in crypto to individual charities one by one, sending dozens if not hundreds of individual transactions. The Crypto Adoption Fund solves this problem, allowing donors to support every US-based, pro-crypto nonprofit on The Giving Block with a single transaction.
Which nonprofits are participating?
All US-based nonprofits that work with The Giving Block will be eligible to receive donations from the Crypto Adoption Fund in equal proportion. At the start of each month, the Fund will be updated to include new nonprofits that have onboarded with The Giving Block.
